Notch filters are narrow-band blocking filters, while having good transmittance in the region of shorter and longer wavelengths. A characteristic feature of such filters is steepness of the spectral curve fronts, high coefficient of blocking of the required wavelength and high level of transmittance of the rest of the spectrum.
